Peggy Huddleston will show you how to give a one-hour workshop using mind-body techniques for people facing surgery. The training is based on her book, Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster: A Guide of Mind-Body Techniques and its companion Relaxation CD.
Research shows that Huddleston's method of preparing for surgery helps people significantly reduce anxiety, use 23-50% less pain medication and heal faster.
You will learn to use mind-body techniques to give four one-hour workshops:

A controlled study at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA with 56 patients having colorectal surgery showed patients had significantly less anxiety before surgery, left the hospital 1.6 days sooner than the controls. By day two at home, they used 60% less pain medication.
Hours: Sat.10-5 p.m., Sunday, 9-5 p.m. Wear comfortable, casual clothes. Cost: $445 per person.
How to Take Training by TeleConference & DVDs
On the phone bridge you hear the Training and you can ask questions. When the group with Peggy watches a one hour DVD of Peggy giving a Prepare for Surgery Workshop to a woman preparing for colorectal surgery, you watch the same DVD at home.
Afterwards, you call the phone bridge and you and the others in the Training ask Peggy questions about the Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster Workshop. You are mailed the DVDs and Training notebook when you sign up for the Training.
Next Peggy has everyone work in pairs to role-play a Prepare for Surgery Workshop. You will be paired with any person taking the Training from home. You will give a Prepare for Surgery Workshop while the other person role-plays being an anxious patient facing surgery. Afterwards you will reverse roles and receive a workshop.
Next, you call the phone bridge where you ask Peggy questions. This is how the weekend Training works.
